The iconic Anchor Bar in downtown Detroit, which has long been a watering hole for sports fans, journalists and office workers, is reopening on Monday.
The business at 450 Fort St., which the Derderian family sold in 2018 to Zaid Elia, closed for a stretch at the outset of the pandemic in 2020, then opened, only to shut again this past January.
Now, it's reopening with a Tigers Opening Day celebration Friday, April 8.
Elia also owns Parc Detroit and 220 Merrill in Birmingham.
