Though the race has been relatively quiet, things could start to heat up now that the Tuesday, 4 p.m. deadline to file for Detroit mayor has passed.

- Detroit Council President Mary Sheffield
- Detroit City Councilman Fred Durhal III
- Former Detroit City Council President Saunteel Jenkins
- Former Detroit Police Chief James Craig
- Rev. Solomon Kinloch Jr.
- Attorney Todd Perkins
- Retired businessman Joel Haashiim
- Entrepreneur Jonathan Barlow
- Dean Evans, who works in criminal justice
The primary is Aug. 5. The two top vote-getters will square off in the general election.
Detroit Mayor mike Duggan is finishing up his third term in office and is running as an Independent for governor in 2026.
